Tomasz KURAN (born 1971, Warsaw)
Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw - Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art. Diploma in the Department of Conservation and Restoration of Painting and Polychrome Sculpture under the direction of Prof. Joanna Szpor. He also studied painting in the studio of Prof. Rajmund Ziemski - painting annex to the diploma "head study". He is a versatile artist, perfectly comfortable in the field of drawing, painting, collage. The protagonists of his works are usually abstractly treated figures, planes which he sets in various types of landscapes, motifs or color dynamics. Above all, the most important thing for him is color, the dynamics of the image and the action of spots or textures. To achieve this, he often goes beyond the framework of classical painting by combining techniques, aiming to make the painting as interesting and creative as possible, giving the viewer the opportunity for individual interpretation. His paintings are mainly a tangle of emotions more or less filled with feeling, or a play of unspecified characters captured in the moment. He does not create in one style, which is characteristic of many contemporary artists, but follows different, very individual paths - a painting is supposed to be interesting, inspiring, moving - hence his works include landscapes, abstractions, graphics, monochrome paintings, and he is no stranger to such activities as splashing, gluing, cutting out or scratching. He is an artist whose works are not always easy to accept. He collaborates with galleries: NEXT, Bellotto, ARTtu, Cavaletto, Art for Art, 101 and with auction houses: NEXT - Art Auctions and Desa Unicum. Recent, more important individual exhibitions of paintings: in the State Art Gallery In Plock titled" Moments emotions feelings", in the gallery "Dzwonnica" titled "Saints differently" in Warsaw, two exhibitions in Vienna titled "Emotions in the landscape" and recently in the Gallery 101 Project exhibition titled. "Greenland is not black and white".
